Detroit: Become Human
Aug. 10th, 2026 02:24 pmI think it was about 7-8 years ago when I first heard about this game from a beauty influencer I followed that remarked that the story was emotionally impactful, that she liked Connor and hated Markus. I had this in mind when I booted the game up for the first time because I figured it must be a pretty good game if someone's giving it such a glowing review. Hell, even the graphics hold up pretty well despite this being a game that came out in 2018.
Heh.............
( basic spoilers around the premise but nothing you're not going to encounter if you play the beginning of each character's story )
I might write a more spoilery entry about this mainly because some of the shit that happens in the game is truly bonkers. I'm also doing another playthrough because I heard the Pacifist route was different, though I'm not sure i am going to suffer through a 3rd playthrough because Markus' route is such a slog to get through.
Probably the last thing I'll say about this is that I'm reluctant to play any of Quantic Dream's other games after this. Idk. TBD. I have access to both Beyond and Heavy Rain because of Family Sharing (which is how I was able to play this Masterpiece) so I might revisit the idea given I'm not losing out on much besides spending my own time. But honestly I may end up replaying Nier Automata or Replicant because I think that had a lot more to say about the whole Androids vs Humanity thing than Markus quoting Martin Luther King jr. and Emiliano Zapata.
